About the Initiative

The Student Sports Map is a large-scale joint initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science, and Sports and NGO “Innovative university“. We aim to ensure that every student-athlete can pursue their dream major at an institution that truly provides all the necessary conditions, from professional coaching staff to modern facilities and equipment.

The initiative began with a comprehensive nationwide study of university sports infrastructure. We personally visited higher education institutions to assess the condition of stadiums, swimming pools, and gyms. We have transformed all this data into a user-friendly digital tool for applicants and students.

This project is not just a directory, but the foundation for global changes in Ukrainian education. The results of our study will serve as a basis for the development of student leagues and sports clubs. We believe that university sports are capable of more than just raising champions. An active sports life becomes a powerful factor that brings young people back to live communication and offline learning, inspiring them to stay and develop in Ukraine.

How to Use the Interactive Map

The main tool of our platform is the interactive map of the sports infrastructure of Ukrainian HEIs (Higher Education Institutions). We have simplified the search process as much as possible so you can find the perfect place to study and train in just a few clicks.

Users can flexibly customize the system to fit their own needs. You can use filters to select the desired city or region and specify a particular sport—the platform supports categorization into both Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines. The system will instantly filter the database and visualize on the map only those universities that match your request. By clicking on a specific institution, you go to its personal page. There, you will find complete information about the university’s sports life, photos of infrastructure facilities, a detailed list of available sports, and a description of the infrastructure, indicating the condition of the gyms or fields and their readiness for competitions of various levels.

Thus, the map is designed to help you evaluate the real capabilities of each institution’s sports infrastructure in advance and ensure that your chosen university will help you grow professionally.
