Athletic life at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs is a vital component in training future law enforcement specialists and forging their professional readiness. The university gives priority attention to the development of physical culture and sports, viewing them as an effective tool for health promotion, alongside building endurance, willpower, and psychological resilience among male and female higher education students.

In accordance with the educational curricula, cadets and students master a series of disciplines with a physical culture and athletic focus, including “Special Physical Preparation,” “Physical Preparation,” and “Physical Education.” These academic courses are aimed at building the necessary professional competencies, developing physical attributes, refining applied motor skills, and preparing future law enforcement officers to perform service tasks in complex conditions.

Concurrently, significant attention is dedicated to extracurricular sports activities. In their free time, students have the opportunity to train systematically in sports clubs, which include: track and field, sport and combat sambo, grappling, MMA, boxing, kettlebell lifting, volleyball, association football, and fitness. Regular training sessions facilitate an elevated level of physical fitness, the formation of team spirit, and the popularization of a healthy lifestyle within the university environment.

To safeguard a high-quality training process, a modern athletic infrastructure has been established at the university. Available for student use are a mini-football field with an artificial turf surface, an indoor game hall, a fitness gym, two specialized wrestling halls, a boxing and kettlebell lifting gym, as well as an outdoor court with street fitness machines. This material and technical base allows for a comprehensive educational and training process, hosting internal competitions, and preparing athletes for participation in tournaments of various levels.

The result of this systematic work is reflected in the top athletic achievements of the university’s representatives. Students have repeatedly emerged as champions and medalists of world, all-Ukrainian, and regional competitions, representing the university with dignity and demonstrating a supreme standard of preparation. Athletic activity at the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs is rooted in the principles of perseverance, self-perfection, and the drive for victory.
