Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Boberskyi
Lviv State University of Physical Culture is a higher education institution of the IV accreditation level. In 1946, the Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture was established on the basis of a physical culture vocational school. In 2006, by order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the institution was reorganized into the Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
Its structure comprises five faculties: the Faculty of Physical Education; the Faculty of Sports; the Faculty of Human Health; the Faculty of Tourism; and the Faculty of Advanced Training, Retraining, Postgraduate, and Distance Education. Students pursue their studies across three academic buildings, which house specialized sports halls alongside traditional lecture halls.
The educational and mentoring process at the university is executed by 25 departments staffed by 34 professors and doctors of sciences, 141 candidates of sciences and associate professors, 50 Masters of Sports and Masters of Sports of International Class, 23 national and international category referees, 7 Honored Workers of Physical Culture and Sports, 2 Honored Workers of Education of Ukraine, 1 Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine, 13 Honored Coaches of Ukraine, 1 Honored Teacher of Ukraine, and 1 Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
