National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”
Athletic life at the National University “Poltava Polytech” is vibrant and multifaceted, designed around the comprehensive development of students. The university manages numerous sports sections, notably in football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, track and field, powerlifting, and other disciplines.
Intramural championships, departmental spartakiads, and tournaments are traditionally held to unite the student body and build team spirit. Furthermore, the university’s infrastructure serves as a regular host site for regional and all-Ukrainian championships in various sports. Students routinely represent the university at national and international tournaments, capturing elite results.
A vital role in advancing student sports is performed by University President Volodymyr Onyshchenko, who heads the Students’ Sports Union of Ukraine in the Poltava Region and the Ukrainian Federation of School Sport in the Poltava Region. This institutional leadership drives the development of the athletic movement, supports youth, and implements modern approaches to physical education. The university maintains a state-of-the-art sports infrastructure that maximizes training efficiency and tournament hosting, successfully combining mass participation, competitive drive, and an aspiration for elite athletic achievements.
