Odesa State University of Internal Affairs

The Department’s key areas of activity include:
educating highly qualified specialists for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and, in particular, the National Police of Ukraine, in accordance with the current requirements of law enforcement service. Graduates are prepared to effectively perform operational and tactical duties in both routine service and complex operational situations involving the use of firearms and special equipment;
conducting scientific research in the Department’s areas of specialization, training academic staff, and supporting their continuous professional development;
fostering high moral standards, resilience, psychological stability, and strong leadership qualities among cadets and trainees, enabling them to perform operational and tactical tasks effectively in both routine and high-risk situations;
promoting physical culture and sport, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and advancing professionally oriented sports relevant to law enforcement service.

The Department’s academic staff consists of experienced lecturers with extensive practical experience in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine. Many have participated in special operations involving the apprehension of armed offenders, the suppression of public disturbances, and the maintenance of public order during mass public events.
The Department currently employs 14 academic staff members, including five Candidates of Sciences (PhD holders), one Honoured Coach of Ukraine, one Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine, three Masters of Sports of Ukraine, two Candidates for Master of Sports of Ukraine, and two certified tactical training instructors for law enforcement agencies.
