Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy

The university actively competes in sports tournaments under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MESU). Our university has been a multi-time medalist of the All-Ukrainian Universiades. A vast number of elite athletes within the student body have captured champion and medalist titles at the All-Ukrainian Universiades; specifically, the men’s basketball team emerged as Universiade Champions, while the men’s football team finished as national medalists. The ranks of our student body and alumni feature an Olympic Champion, Olympic Medalists, as well as Champions and Medalists of the Paralympic and Deaflympic Games. Many student-athletes hold active rosters within national teams across various sports. The university runs a comprehensive internal Spartakiad across multiple sports disciplines, engaging both students and faculty members. Specialized sports sections operate continuously, involving students from all university institutes and departments. Furthermore, these institutional sections serve as a welcoming training ground for the children of the university’s faculty members.
