The role of the Izmail State University of Humanities lies in building sustainable motivation among youth toward a healthy lifestyle and establishing an innovative educational-sports space. This environment merges professional preparation with active social responsibility, reinforcing the institution’s status as a regional powerhouse for physical culture and sports development while driving the modernization of physical education to forge a healthy, competitive future for the country.

The foundation of the department’s success resides in its personnel potential. The teaching faculty features an elite level of scientific qualification: over 60% of staff members hold advanced Doctor of Sciences and Candidate of Sciences degrees. Alongside teaching, these specialists actively train new academic cadres via postgraduate and doctoral programs. Faculty members complete international internships at leading institutions in Slovenia and Latvia, exploring innovative and inclusive approaches to sports. Furthermore, educators master artificial intelligence technologies tailored for instructors to modernize teaching methodologies. The collective’s professional excellence was awarded a gold medal at an international exhibition under the category dedicated to preserving physical and mental health.

The university has engineered an operational support system for student-athletes, enabling them to successfully blend academic pursuits with elite athletic milestones. Education seekers have demonstrated striking achievements across a diverse array of disciplines. The sports elite of ISUH is represented by a broad circle of professionals: the student body includes over 10 Masters of Sports of Ukraine and numerous Candidates for Master of Sports. Students represent the university in kayaking and canoeing, fencing, sambo, freestyle wrestling, volleyball, handball, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting, and grappling. University students are active members of the National Teams of Ukraine, emerging as silver medalists at the European Championships, champions of all-Ukrainian tournaments, and regional titles. Beyond competing, students are actively engaged in refereeing municipal events and delivering masterclasses, which drastically accelerates their coaching and leadership skills.

The university acts as an open sports hub for the entire region. Modernized gyms for bodybuilding and athletic gymnastics, martial arts dojos, team sports halls, and outdoor fitness zones are accessible not only to students but also to temporarily displaced persons (IDPs) and the local community. Special emphasis is placed on inclusion—lecturers and students routinely volunteer to work with children with special educational needs and displaced persons within inclusive rehabilitation centers.
